Ever wanted to return to a particularly climactic scene in a Netflix movie or show? Perhaps one that got your heart racing, or a specific scene that changed you at a young age? Well, good. Netflix’s latest feature, “Moments“, will help you do exactly that over on the streamer’s Android and iOS mobile apps.
Cultural Moments
It’s essentially just a clipping tool, made for Netflix, which has always been rather stingy when it comes to even screenshotting something on the mobile app. Perhaps the company fears piracy (or really high-quality memes). When you come across a scene you’d love to bookmark – for research purposes, obviously – hit the ‘Moments’ button to save it.
Netflix suggests holding onto scenes like the “steamy” kiss between Colin and Penelope in the latest season of Bridgerton but we have aa idea of what it’ll be used for the minute it hits users’ devices worldwide. On that, iOS watchers can start clipping Moments as soon as today. Android users must wait at least a few weeks.

Whatever you classify as a ‘Moment’ worthy of saving, you’ll need to be careful about what you do with it. Moments are automatically saved into a separate folder within the Netflix app, but there’s also the option to share whatever you’ve clipped with the entire world through Facebook and Instagram. The only limitation? Sharing to TikTok is currently prohibited, though the streamer noted that it was working on changing this in future.
For now, there are currently no methods to determine when a Moment will end. All users can control is when a Moment starts, and Netflix will handle the rest. According to an FAQ, however, “the option to add an endtime is something we’re actively evaluating as we work to add more functionality to feature over time.”
