Stuff South Africa

In This Issue – The Best Gadgets of 2024 (August-September 2024) Issue

Well, well, would you look at the time? We’re… late? How are we late? Bugger. Well, rather than quoting a famous wizard we’ll just get on with it, yeah? This is the August-September 2024 issue of Stuff Magazine. It’s on shelves and in online stores all over the place, including right here on Stuff. But it’s not about availability so much as it is about what’s inside this issue that you should look out for.

As ever, there are loads of products in the August-September 2024 of South Africa’s best technology magazine to drool over. So many of them, in fact, that we’ve smashed together an early Christmas wish list of sorts. If you’re the type to buy your prezzies early and stash them in a cupboard (sane, but unsafe), storage unit (optimum mix of security and sanity), or safe deposit box (what exactly are you buying people, crazy person?), expect more than a hundred options for the dedicated tech-head in your life. If that person happens to be, well, you, then so be it.

If you must opt for a somewhat boring and practical purchase, for festive or any other reasons at this time of year, Stuff‘s August-September 2024 issue has you covered. Lightweight Windows laptops have undergone something of a design change in recent months, brought on by questionable AI integration and the need to hold your attention for long enough for Lenovo, Asus, and others to get their hands on your wallet. That transaction is always better when you’ve personally got some idea of what you’re getting in return, which is why we’ve compiled this list of Windows notebooks that are only slightly less awesome than a new MacBook.

All this talk of spending large sums of money stressing you out? We’ve got something to take care of that too. It involves spending no (or very small) sums of money, too. Cultivate zen while looking at your smartphone (so obviously X isn’t on this list) by immersing yourself in some soothing app-based experiences that will have you building, pruning, and otherwise soothing your shattered nerves before you reflexively open a real social media feed again and your anxiety threatens to yank you into a bush and kick you to sleep. Ahem.

The August-September 2024 issue of Stuff is packed with loads more. There are favourites, like our popular Top 10 pages (on that note, watch this space for something altogether new), loads of reviews (including a pretty nifty telescope), and ways to upgrade both your brain and your tech. All of these, and more, can be found on the pages of the August-September 2024 issue of Stuff Magazine. It’s on shelves, in stores, and available online.
