Anyone who didn’t buy into the Galaxy AI hype the first, second or even third time around will finally be rewarded for their patience in the coming months or weeks. Samsung, according to a new report from SamMobile, is gearing up to launch its AI smarts on the company’s latest A-Series efforts.
Those are the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 – the former occupies the South Korean outfit’s upper-middle-range sector, while the latter sits on the lower end of the spectrum. “Galaxy AI will eventually expand beyond the high-end segment,” SamMobile said. Of course, there’s a catch.
There’s always a bigger catch
Considering the price tags attached to even the cheapest Galaxy AI-enabled smartphones (a position currently held by the R14,500 Galaxy S23 FE), we weren’t at all surprised to learn Samsung plans to nerf the AI experience for the newcomers, the cheapest of which can be picked up for R9,000.
Unfortunately, SamMobile couldn’t confirm which features might make the cut, and which others will be banished to the shadow realm. We’re fairly certain the Instant Slow-Mo feature will be left out, considering it was nixed from the experience attached to the current cheapest AI-riddled device, the S23 FE.

There’s also no exact date for when we can expect Galaxy to arrive on the A55 and A35, though we know it’s penned to go live alongside the next One UI 6.1.1 update, possibly arriving in the back-end of August, or the early stages of September. Barring no delays internally, of course.
As for the customers patiently holding onto last year’s Galaxy A efforts (the A54 and A34) in the hopes of one day seeing Galaxy AI infect their devices, don’t expect Samsung to oblige anytime soon, if ever. That’s even despite the hardware similarities attached – such as the Galaxy A35 sporting the same chipset as the Galaxy A54.
