Following the March launch of the flagship Honor Magic V2 and Magic 6 Pro, Honor SA has officially announced it will bring all three Honor 200 devices to SA shelves.
The Honor 200 Lite is already available but when the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro debut at a local launch event on 24 July, it will mark the first time that Honor will launch the ‘Pro’ model of its upper-mid-range number series in SA.

The headlining feature of the hero Honor 200 Pro is its photography abilities. For hardware, you’re looking at the same 50MP main sensor found in the Magic 6 Pro together with a 50MP telephoto sensor, and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. Another front-facing 50MP sensor rounds out the cameras on offer.
Honor is also making a big deal about its new partnership with the highly esteemed Parisian portrait photography house, Studio Harcourt with which it has co-developed a new photography mode that “combines expert craftsmanship with advanced AI capabilities to deliver studio-level portrait photography on smartphones.”
Other specs include a 6.78in OLED display that claims a peak brightness of 4,000 nits, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and a 5,200mAh Silicon-carbon battery capable of 100W wired and 66W wireless charging.

We continue to commit ourselves to bringing cutting-edge technology and performance to South Africa”, said Honor South Africa CEO Fred Zhou.
The Honor 200 non-pro model retains most of the Pro’s specs, including the 50MP selfie and telephoto sensors and the 12MP ultrawide. It also hangs onto the 5,200mAh battery and 100W charging rate but over a cable only.
Its differences include an ever-so-slightly smaller screen, a less-capable SOC — it uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 — and a different main camera sensor.
Price and availability
These details are still to be confirmed by Honor, although we do know that the devices will launch on 24 July at Honor’s upcoming local event and will be priced ‘in a similar range to the Honor 90’, we were told.
