Spoiler alert! If you’ve been counting down the days until Samsung’s Unpacked event in the hopes of seeing the unveiling of the expected Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 smartphones – and everything else – the right way, we’ve got some bad news. Both the Fold and Flip 6 have had what appears to be their entire spec sheets leaked online, courtesy of Evan Blass AKA evleaks, and his Substack newsletter (via The Verge).

While Samsung has not yet confirmed the existence of either foldable, further leaks concerning the company’s marketing materials for the devices only compound the fact that an announcement must be imminent. How else would the world already know how much the Galaxy Z Fold 6 weighs? (Psst, it’s 239g).

Folded that easily, huh?

Let’s start off with the Galaxy Z Fold 6, shall we? We’ve mentioned that it weighs a whole 14g less than the Fold 5, but what caught our attention was the massive boost to brightness. Going from the Fold 5’s measly 1,750 nits, the massive jump to 2,600 nits should make a big difference for those of you who like to go outside.

If you were hoping to see all that through a larger screen, you’d be slightly disappointed. The outer display has retained the 7.6in spec it wore last time around, while the inner screen sees a minute bump up to 6.3in. An imperceptible change to the resolution is also incoming, which now sits at 2160×1856.

On the inside is the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is hopefully able to sufficiently drag up the device’s battery life by any means necessary – something we wouldn’t have to wish for if Samsung would just whack a slightly larger battery in there. But no, Fold 6 users are condemned to live with the same 4,400mAh battery that was present in the Fold 5.

The camera modules, too have been left untouched, as has the coating of Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the cover. Never fear. There’s an “improved Armor Aluminium frame” to help protect the slimmer frame (1.4mm shorter, 1mm wider, 1.3mm thinner when folded).

Now don’t Flip out

The Galaxy Z Flip 6, at least, is making a couple more changes. Some good – like the improved battery, going from 3,700mAh to 4,000mAh – and others… not so good. We’re talking about the change that’ll see the secondary display lose its OLED credibility, and switch to an IPS display.

Other than a change in technology, the Flip 6 won’t see any changes to display size or resolution, holding onto that 6.7in inner screen, and 3.4in outer screen. It does, however, sport the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor like its Fold sibling, and sees a bump to 12GB of RAM rather than the 8GB we saw last year.

The biggest upgrade is easily the new 50MP main sensor leading the camera charge. It’s shot up from 12MP, though it’s kept the same f/1.8 aperture. The remaining camera specs remain unchanged, however.

All that’s missing now is official pricing. At least there’ll be something new to see at the Unpacked livestream, scheduled for 10 July. Unless…
