Rain, one of the largest purveyors of South Africa’s 5G (and 4G, we guess) spectrum, has officially entered the workforce with the launch of RainOne Work — a business-facing package which offers unlimited 5G data as well as five “free” 4G SIM cards. It’ll even make use of the provider’s stylish ‘the101‘ router to, er, match your workplace’s aesthetic.
Getting all worked up
If you’re the owner of a small business that wouldn’t mind access to Rain’s 5G network, a router and five SIM cards to keep your employees happy, you’ll need to fork over at least R795/m for the offering’s base package. That’ll get you access to the provider’s 5G internet (at 30Mbps) plus 2GB of mobile data, 100 SMSes and 60 minutes of call time on each of the five included SIM cards.
If that at all sounds familiar it’s because… it is. It closely resembles the provider’s current personal RainOne package, although it adds R200 onto the price to accommodate three extra SIM cards.
Should your business require faster 5G speeds, you’ll need to pay an additional R200/m to go up from 30Mbps to 60Mbps. If you’re looking for 100Mbps+, an even larger sacrifice of R400 is required, rocketing the RainOne Work bundle to R1,195/m. And that’s before you’ve even made changes to your five SIM cards.

Currently, customers cannot bump up or subtract the number of SIMs included in the RainOne Work bundle. They can, however, “level up” the available gigs and minutes for each month, though this will include an additional fee on top of the base R795/m cost.
For example, should a customer “level up” their SIMs to the highest level (level 5), they can expect to pay R1,545/m, which includes the base 30Mbps 5G internet, as well as 7GB mobile data, 210 call minutes and 100SMSes every month across all five SIM cards.
