Netflix’s awful mobile app might finally be useful. That’s thanks to the streaming giant’s addition of the ‘My Netflix’ tab for its mobile offering, which segregates the stuff you want to watch from the one-season series and reality TV that’s so often shoved onto your home page. At least, that’s what the streamer said it’ll do in a blog post announcing the new feature.
#NotMyNetflix
Essentially, the My Netflix tab is an aggregation of anything you’ve shown an interest in before. You know, how Netflix’s algorithm is meant to make your home page look. Specifically, it’ll house all the shows and movies you’ve downloaded, are busy watching, on your watchlist, thumbs-upped, or any trailers you’ve watched before. Because rewatching trailers is a normal activity.
“Keep in mind that the more you interact with and tell Netflix what you like, such as saving more action-thrillers like Extraction 2 to My List or giving a thumbs up to every season of Bridgerton, the more you’ll see on the My Netflix tab.”

As it stands, the new tab is a feature limited to the streamer’s mobile app. But there’s a chance we could see the feature expand to new mediums, according to a conversation between The Verge and Netflix spokesperson MoMo Zhou, who said the expansion is “something we’re exploring, but no exact timeframe yet.”
The feature is being rolled out to iOS devices today, with Android devices expected to see the feature arrive sometime in early August. Those that already have the feature will find it at the bottom-right of their home page, next to the ‘New & Hot’ section.
