Netflix Games is on a serious roll. The latest title to be added to the streamer’s mobile games list is Tomb Raider Reloaded. Lara Croft’s latest outing is a little… unexpected if you’re used to the more traditional genre but it’s still worth checking out.
Reloaded bears more resemblance to the isometric games in the series, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Temple of Osiris. Only, you know, on a phone. And the game seems to be keen on a younger demographic, based on the stylistic changes.
Tomb Raider for kids
Tomb Raider Reloaded is a more basic take on isometric puzzle-based combat. The game’s design looks like it’s borrowed from the Candy Crush aesthetic but there’s movement puzzles and twin-stick shooter controls. It also appears to include multiple playable characters, like you’re ever going to tear yourself away from the acrobatic Miss Croft.
As with other titles from Netflix Games, it’s completely free (without ads) for Netflix subscribers. All you need to do is access the download via the Netflix app on your mobile device. That specific version is free-to-download and will side-step all advertising. Which is handy.
This launch is another step on Netflix’s path toward world (mobile) gaming domination. The company is adding two really excellent-looking indie titles and it’s also playing host to a Ninja Turtles title and a couple of games about cats. That’s on top of the existing list of titles that Netflix subscribers can access for free.
