WhatsApp is tripling its media send limit up to 100 images or videos (per message)

There was once a time – many years ago – when WhatsApp limited the number of pictures, videos, or files people could send to each other in the same message. Then, 2017 rolled around and WhatsApp increased the limit, allowing up to 30 images to be sent all at once. It’s been six years since the last major media update – it’s time to increase that limit again, don’t you think?

Meta is working on just that. In addition to being able to send media in its original quality, the limit is being raised yet again. Soon users will have the option of sending 100 images or videos all in a single same message. We’re not sure who this update is for, but the ten or so people that’ll use the feature are jumping for joy right now.

The feature hasn’t yet rolled out. Not to everyone, at least. According to WABetaInfo, the feature is currently undergoing its beta phase, before it eventually hits the world’s app stores. If you’re one of those that are signed up to the Google Play Beta Programme for WhatsApp, and you’re using the latest Android 2.23.4.3 version, the update should already be available to you.

WhatsApp hasn’t announced any dates for the official rollout thus far. But, if the feature has already made it to the beta program, that usually means that a full release is right around the corner. Keep an eye on those updates over the coming weeks.
