A week after Apple announced its line-up of iPhone 14’s, South Africa finally has pricing for [some of] its devices. Be warned, it’s not pretty. Prices are quite a bit higher than last year’s range, so bear that in mind before rushing off to get yourself a shiny new device.
During the ‘Far Out’ event, we saw the standard iPhone 14 and its Plus-sized counterpart. If you’re looking for the best of the best, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max should satisfy that itch. For a price, of course.
Keeping it simple
Let’s start off with the standard iPhone 14. The base model, with 128GB of storage, will cost you R20,600, R3,300 more than the stock 128GB iPhone 13 last year. Looking deeper, it costs R800 more than last year’s 256GB iPhone 13.
Snagging an iPhone 14 with 256GB storage will set you back R23,000.
If you’d like the model with the most storage, 512GB, expect to fork over R28,500.
You can choose from a list of colours that would make Steve Jobs roll over in his grave; Product Red, Purple, Midnight, Blue, and Starlight. If the prices don’t bother you, you can pre-order them here. Packages should start shipping on or close to 23 September.
The iPhone 14 Plus is yet to have its pricing revealed. We’ll update you once they hit South African shelves for pre-order.
Going Pro
It wouldn’t be September without two Pro models to accompany the standard iPhone 14 launch. We’ve got the pricing for both the 14 Pro and the Pro Max. Both are out to get your wallets, so maybe keep your credit card out of reach for this part.
The base iPhone 14 Pro, with 128GB of storage will cost R25,700. Compared to last year’s iPhone 13 Pro, you’re paying around R4,200 more for the 14.
Going up a level with an iPhone 14 256GB costs R28,300.
Laying your hands on the 512GB Pro model will cost you R33,500. But wait, there’s still a 1TB model to get to. If you’d like to get the 1TB iPhone 14 Pro, you’ll pay R38,600 all in all. It’s not cheap, but when are Apple’s devices ever cheap?
All four iPhone 14 Pros release on 22 September, the same as the standard iPhone 14. You can choose from; Space Black, Silver, Gold, and Deep Purple. If you’d like to grab one of these, you can get your pre-order done here.

Maxing out your stats
Finally, we have the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Obviously, these are the most expensive phones Apple offers. Starting off with the 128GB model, you’ll be needing R28,400.
An iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB sets you back R31,000.
If you really need the storage, the Pro Max 512GB will end up costing R36,000.
Finally, we come to the 14 Pro 1TB edition. This bad boy clears the R40k mark, costing R41,500.
Of course, there are a couple of colours to choose from. You can grab them in Deep Purple, Space Black, Silver, and Gold. If you can afford a Pro Max, you can pre-order one over here. As with the other models, we’ll see the Pro Max release on 23 September.
