If it’s always been your dream to manage the players on FIFA Mobile, rather than play, then your dreams are coming true. The popular iOS and Android game has received an update that allows players to start a ‘Manager Mode’.
Not Football Manager, unfortunately
The update (which is available now) doesn’t turn FIFA Mobile into a Football Manager knockoff, though we wish it would. You can’t scout new talent, argue with underperforming players and the board, or organise training regimes. You can however choose the lineup, switch up plays mid-game, and run the team how you’d like.
Manager Mode isn’t the only new feature landing in the game. Player-switching has been added, goalkeepers save more and 30 official National kits and crests are available to use. This isn’t the Manager Mode to end all manager modes though. It’s been designed to offer something fresh to the current FIFA Mobile, and keep you interested enough to come back for more. It certainly isn’t any better than Football Manager, or even FIFA’s own Career Mode. EA wouldn’t want people focusing too much on its free mobile version.

“I swear you’ll never see anything like this ever again! Watch it, drink it in!” No, seriously. We won’t see EA Sports FIFA again after its final outing in FIFA 23 – which extends to the mobile version as well. Enjoy it while it lasts.
