It finally feels as if everything is returning to normal. Masks and travel restrictions have been lifted, and NFTs are dying a slow, painful death. Of course, with the return to normality folks are itching to get out of South Africa, if only for a few weeks. FNB has noted the rise in travel and is again offering qualifying customers complimentary access to SLOW Airport Lounges.
Access to SLOW Lounges will be free from tomorrow, 15 July, until 15 October. Three glorious months of free Wi-Fi, snacks, and drinks, and easy access to charging ports. If you travel often, the SLOW Lounge is a no-brainer. It’s a great spot to camp out and recharge until your flight is ready to leave.
Taking it SLOW
But before you head out to the airport, make sure you’re a qualifying FNB customer first. It looks a little silly rocking up to the SLOW Lounge and being turned away.
Complimentary visits are available to FNB customers who hold these credit/debit cards;
- Premier
- Private Clients
- Private Wealth
- RMB Private Fusion
But that’s not all. The SLOW Lounges are also available to FNB clients who fall into these categories;
- FNB Platinum Business
- FNB Enterprise Business
- FNB Healthcare
- RMB Private Bank Business
If you’re one of these FNB customers, then you’re sorted. You can enjoy three months of complimentary visits at your leisure. Unless your leisure is after 15 October. Then you’re fresh out of luck. Oh, and SLOW guests are allowed to bring one guest along for the ride.
eBucks to the rescue… again
SLOW Lounge benefits originally started as a program to give back to customers, allowing customers to use the eBucks they had earned to get cool travel benefits. After eBucks Travel was launched, FNB began rewarding customers with SLOW Lounge visits to keep customers satisfied and stress-free.
“We encourage our customers and their families to enjoy the experience and we hope this also helps them to save from any costs they would have incurred for similar benefits,” FNB said.

Clearly, FNB’s eBucks schemes are working. Every day, more customers join the bank so that they can snag the rewards being handed out like candy. FNB is giving customers R2 for every litre of fuel bought in the form of eBucks. There are also eBucks savings when purchasing certain subscription services using the bank’s virtual cards. Overall, the concept is working out extremely well. It’s a lesson plenty of other companies can learn from. Keep the customers happy, and they’ll always come back for more.
Even if you miss the SLOW lounge boat over the next three months, you can still use eBucks to get in there. Past 15 October, it’s still possible to live the jet-setting lifestyle you’re about to become accustomed to. Or you can drop eBucks on other rewards if you feel like staying at home.
