Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 can now be purchased in a Pokéball – if you’re in South Korea

Like everyone else, Samsung can’t get over Pokémon. The brand appears to want to Catch ‘Em All™. After launching a special Pokémon Edition Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 in South Korea, the company is back with another Pokémon collab. This time, Nintendo is teaming with Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2.

If you own the pimped-out phone, you need these babies to complete the set. Unfortunately, they’re only available in South Korea, so you probably won’t get to buy a set. That’s a serious shame. They look really, really awesome.

Galaxy Buds GO

While the earbuds themselves aren’t themed, which we think is a missed opportunity for some fun Pokémon colour options, the case looks like Eevee is about to jump out of it. The Pokéball cover has the classic cradle embedded within, complete with a push-button mechanism to unlock the case, just like the cartoon version. Unfortunately, you can’t catch any actual Pokémon. It’s just a snug home for the Galaxy Buds 2.

These Galaxy Buds 2 come with a random sticker. There are ten common stickers, with characters like Pikachu, Squirtle, Jigglypuff, and others. If you’re super lucky, you’ll get the rarest sticker of them all — a hologram Mewtwo. Trying to collect ’em all™ could prove expensive, though.

Buyers can choose from five colour options. According to SamMobile, the special edition Galaxy Buds 2 will go on sale for 134,000 Won (R1,700).

Good deal GO

Galaxy Buds

Since the standard Galaxy Buds 2 costs more than R1,700, this is a pretty galactic deal. When these ‘buds go on sale, they will probably sell like… well, Pokémon cards.

There’s no information on whether the Galaxy Buds 2 Pokemon Edition will be released in other markets outside of South Korea. We’ll keep you posted.
