Marvel’s Daredevil could make its return to screens via Disney+

There have been a few whispers floating around about a revival of Marvel’s Daredevil ever since Disney+ came about. It was stated, though it needn’t’ve been, that all Marvel content would move over to the platform. This was probably a factor in Netflix’s decision to cancel the show after three well-received seasons.

Those whispers got a little louder with the release of Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home last year. Those titles saw Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox reprise their roles as Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock respectively.

You don’t get to destroy Daredevil

Some recent news from Variety makes things slightly more concrete. The wheels of Disney+’s take on the show have started rolling with the hiring of Matt Corman and Chris Ord who will serve as writers and executive producers. The pair previously worked on Covert Affairs, The Enemy Within, and The Brave.

While we’re sure fans will be excited about the news, we would advise caution. We doubt this will be the same show. There is little doubt that Disney’s show will have a much lighter tone than Netflix’s gristly take. Disney’s version probably won’t feature any of those corridor scenes or crossovers with The Punisher. And if there are, the killing will likely take place off-screen.

There isn’t any other concrete info on the project just yet. It’s still unclear if this will be a continuation of what Netflix started or a reboot. D’Onofrio and Cox have both voiced their enthusiasm about returning to Hell’s Kitchen but Marvel hasn’t made any announcements at the time of writing.

If everything goes smoothly, who knows, maybe all of the Defenders will make a return. We doubt it, but it’s possible. Whether it should happen or not is a different matterLooking at you, Danny Rand.
