Info and images of Samsung’s 2022 foldable phones leak

Someone call the plumber because Samsung has sprung another leak. This time it’s a few bits of info and some pretty-looking unofficial renders of the company’s 2022 foldable range – the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. The renders come via SmartPrix and the almost always correct Steve Hemmerstoffer (AKA @Onleaks).

Both devices look rather similar to their predecessors. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will reportedly have the same 6.2in cover display with a 7.6in folding inner display. The most noticeable external change is the camera array that looks to be copy-pasted from the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It looks like we’ll get three camera sensors although we don’t know which ones, just yet.

    The story, as it unfolds

So… Here comes your very first look at the #Samsung #GalaxyZFold4! (360° video + gorgeous 5K renders + dimensions) #FutureSquad

The dimensions have reportedly changed slightly from the Z Fold 3, with the Z Fold 4 measuring 155 x 130 x 7.1mm. Compared to the 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4mm of the Z Fold 3, it’s not all that different. You might feel a difference when laying hands on the smaller variety.

Not much else is known about the Z Fold 4. The under-display selfie cam is said to make a return although it’s hard to say from the renders. You know, because it’s hidden under the display. This year’s device will also reportedly get a few performance updates.

One feature we noticed was absent is somewhere to stash an S Pen. The Fold 4 is supposed to offer S Pen support, as the Fold 3 did. But it looks like you’ll have to buy a case to house it. There’s no discernable place on the device. At least, not in these renders.

And now comes your very first look at the #Samsung #GalaxyZFlip4! (360° video + gorgeous 5K renders + dimensions) #FutureSquad

The Galaxy Z Fold isn’t the only foldable Samsung makes and the Fold 4 wasn’t the only device to leak. Some info and a few renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 also saw the light of day thanks again to Hemmerstoffer and 91Mobiles.

The Z Flip 4 looks rather similar to the Z Flip 3, barring minor dimension changes. Hemmerstoffer told 91Mobiles that it will feature the same 6.7in folding display as the Z Flip 3 and measure around 165.1 x 71.9 x 7.2mm. That isn’t all that different from the 166 x 72.2 x 6.9mm dimensions of the Flip 3.

Rumours point to an August or September launch for Samsung’s foldables. That makes sense considering the previous foldies launched at Samsung’s Unpacked event in August last year. There’ll probably be more concrete info available closer to the time.
