Samsung is launching a Pokémon Edition Galaxy Z Flip 3 (in South Korea, where you can’t get to it)

Pokémon Edition Galaxy Z Flip 3

Samsung loves to place emphasis on its fans. This much is obvious from its presentations, as well as the phone lineup literally called the ‘Fan Edition‘. The only thing missing is a serious crossover. But Nintendo and Pokémon are making that happen.

Kinda. Technically. If you live in South Korea. Samsung is launching a new Pokémon Edition Galaxy Z Flip 3, which is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a branded version of the company’s folding smartphone, but in Ash Red (a colour we didn’t just completely make up).

(Pokémon) go buy it if you can

Inside, it’s a standard Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. There are no changes coming on that front. All of the differences are external. Truthfully, we’re not entirely sure if the phone looks all that different from the regular edition. It looks… pretty standard, but maybe Samsung’s got some creativity under wraps.

The Flip 3 ships in a Pokéball-themed box, along with a red pouch for holding your handheld. There’s a clear, Pikachu-themed case, which suggests that it’s a bog-standard Flip 3 in pretty packaging. The case’s visuals can be swapped, and there’s something that looks like a Pokéball Popsocket as well.

If you happen to have a mate living in Seoul, you can head over to this link to try and snag one of the phones. The Pokémon Edition Galaxy Z Flip 3 is being sold in limited quantities. The website doesn’t mention pricing but we’d imagine the Nintendo branding partnership and extra goodies mean there’s a bit of a markup. If you have to ask how much, you probably aren’t enough of a fan.
