Asus launches a native online store in South Africa, focused on PCs, notebooks and accessories

Asus Online Store

Asus has been vying for your (and our) attention for some time. The company’s latest move just clinches it. Instead of asking you to head to retail like some regular person, the Taiwanese brand has launched its own online store in South Africa.

Much like Samsung and Huawei, which sell their own products natively as well as on/in everyone else’s stores, you can now pick up Asus hardware via the company’s website.

Feel the same Asus

The company’s major focus with the online store, at least at the moment, seems to be its notebooks range. This includes more consumer-facing lineups like the Vivobook, as well as heavy-hitters like the ROG Strix Scar 17. Minor categories include Asus-made desktops and an all-in-one that looks like a tablet with a kickstand and a keyboard.

Plus, you know, accessories for these things. The selection includes a ROG-branded jacket, plus more mundane items like extra charges, styluses… stylii… those pen things, laptop bags, and peripherals. But it’s in the notebook space where all the action happens. There are 42 different Asus laptops available at launch, which seems to constitute everything sold in South Africa at the moment.

Buyers get free delivery on anything more expensive than R450. So basically every order then. The store uses PayFast and also supports that Mobicred payment plan system so beloved by SA’s online retailers. Every notebook sold on the Asus store comes with a three-year warranty. There’s also a Deals tab to check out, in case you’re looking to come in under budget.
