Turtle Beach, usually known for its gaming headsets, is swimming out into uncharted waters (for them anyway): flight simulation controls. At E3 this year, the company announced that it will release the VelocityOne Flight, a universal flight control system. This will include an impressive array of tools, which is to be expected from a collaboration with aeronautical engineers and pilots.
Turtle Beach shows us how to fly
The flight system will provide users with a realistic 180-degree yoke handle, tuned for smooth and precise adjustments, apparently. You will also have access to the rudder controls, toe brake buttons and a full-colour display with its own dedicated controls.
A little off to the right you’ll find the modular throttle setup which has its own 10 programmable buttons and integrated trim wheel. If that wasn’t enough, Turtle Beach will allow home pilots the ability to customise the lever handles. As an added bonus, and a surprise to no one, it will also feature an integrated audio jack.
Out of the box, it will be compatible with PCs and Xbox Series X/S as well as the Xbox One consoles. It is probably more a coincidence that this announcement comes after Microsoft gets ready to release Microsoft Flight Simulator on their consoles.
While we don’t have an exact release date it has been slated for release “this summer”, which means our winter, so in the next few months then? Whether it lands on our shores is another matter.
