Ooooooh boy, things are not looking good for those folks still stuck on an ADSL connection. Technology has evolved. Fibre or 5G are where it’s at for those needing a decent connection. You know, to browse YouTube, download games or do…other stuff on the internet.
If you haven’t upgraded off an ADSL line, you might be in for a bit of trouble in the near future. As more and more folks migrate towards fibre, given that it’s become far more accessible in recent years, Openserve has opted to offer people a little more incentive to move over…by shutting down their ADSL lines.
Connection terminated
Sending out a notification to local ISPs, Openserve has confirmed that their ADSL lines in a variety of areas around the country will be shut down in the very near future. September 2020 to be precise. If you’re affected by this termination, best you start looking at some more modern internet packages or risk being left in the digital dark. Fortunately, the areas affected by the shutdown already have Openserve fibre connections in place, which is… convenient.
“Openserve assures you of our intention to carry out our broadband network infrastructure upgrade with the least amount of disruption to your customers. We remain confident that the Openserve modernisation programme will benefit your business and your customers in the long run,” read the notification sent to ISPs.
