Call of Duty: World War 2 is your next PS+ freebie, and it arrives tomorrow

Depending on who you ask, PlayStation Plus owners had it kinda rough last month. The subscription service that allows for multiplayer on Sony’s console and hands out free games every month to subscribers dished out some… well, they weren’t exactly high profile games. While still fantastic in their own right, Cities: Skylines and Farming Simulator 19 didn’t exactly appeal to the broad range of people playing on PlayStation enough to satisfy their itch for fun. Sony received some flak for this but it seems like they’re trying to turn it all around with their latest offering which is actually arriving a week early, downloadable on 26 May. So, this evening!

Call of Duty: World War 2, the 2017 iteration of the annual shooter, will be handed out to be PS Plus subscribers. Taking the series back to World War 2 after the dismally received Infinite Warfare, WWII was a hit-and-miss entry in the franchise with many appreciating the return to the series’ roots while others lamenting some of the poor design decisions implemented such as the addition of loot boxes with uninspired loot or a clunky lobby system that felt undercooked, like a grenade was thrown too early.

Despite these faults, Call of Duty: World War 2 was fine if you ask me. Brett and Marcé don’t like it at all so that would explain the moaning you can hear coming from behind your couch. Ignore those woeful tones and just enjoy a World War 2 game as if it was directed by Michael Bay with even less tact. It’s stupid and fun if you just let yourself enjoy it.

It should be noted that COD: WW2 is only the first game being offered this month but Sony has remained tight-lipped on what the second half of the monthly PS Plus deal is. Preferably something lengthy that can tide us over until The Last of Us: Part II drops later in June. Get hyped!
