Telkom will stop charging users to access websites that educate on the coronavirus

It’s the topic on the tip of everyone’s tongue at the moment in both a figurative and very literal sense. The coronavirus has people very stressed, very anxious and for some, very confused. That’s the thing about living in a pandemic state in the year 2020. There’s just too much information available and considering the state of disaster that was declared in South Africa last night, it’s about time we started learning more about what’s going on.

To assist South Africa in our quest to learn and persevere Telkom has announced that all websites that can be used as a source for education regarding COVID-19 and the spread of the virus will be free of charge for its users to peruse. That means that if you’re looking into a website on the list below as a means of education the data that is used to access the page will not be counted as used.

Beyond the list of websites that will not be charged, included below and expertly sourced by the folks over at Tech Central, Telkom has also announced that the National Institute for Communicable Diseases and the government’s official coronavirus portal will be free to access for all Telkom users.
