Stuff South Africa

In the December 2019 issue of Stuff Magazine

The year is about to bite the dust, but that doesn’t mean we’re about to stop feeding you wonderful new gadgets and tech. The December issue of Stuff is now available on magazine shelves across the land. And this time… Oh, this time we’ve got some brilliant features, including our annual Wish List. Still stuck on which tech to wrap up for loved ones this holiday season? We’ve gotcha, fam. Ready to commit to 10 issues of our mag? Hit the sub button! (jk, just head to the subs page and sign up there).

Ready to upgrade your old phone? The battery’s probably swollen and it’s got exactly seven cracks across the display, but you’re hoping the screen protector will hold everything together for another year. Good news? In the December issue, we’ve got all the latest and greatest smartphones out now. No, your only option isn’t a second-hand iPhone 7. The Smartphone Supertest feature includes all some big brands (Apple and Huawei) as well as a bunch of others that you won’t necessarily find locally. But you can import them for sure (hit us up if you need help with that).

What are the two coolest things on planet earth right now? If you ask us, we’ll say that is Lego and dinosaur bones. So we decided to feature our favourite toy at the moment — Lego dinosaur fossils. It’s part of the Lego Ideas range and includes a scale model T-Rex along with two minifigs. One is the frightening Pteranodon figure and the other a Triceratops. That covers most plant- and meat-eaters, right? You’ll have to check out the full review of the Lego Ideas Dinosaur Fossils if you’re keen. Or just buy yourself one for Christmas. Either or.

There’s always something Apple this time of the year because Apple knows how to launch products just close enough to the holidays to sell… a lot. This time we take a look at the brand new Apple Watch Series 5. Apple’s upgraded wearable features minor updates, but they sure improve overall functionality. It’s also still not a bad-looking watch if you’re into the square form factor. Have a look at the full review in our December issue if you’re thinking about upgrading from a previous Apple Watch.

You’ll also notice that we’re feeling exceptionally festive this time of the year, with a lovely colourful cover. Inside these covers though, we’ve got something to make everyone feel exceptionally excited. There are Lego dinosaurs (everyone loves dinosaurs), the best wearables around (for the fitness fans), a variety of sound-blasters (from tiny earbuds to a transparent speaker — it’s a thing), and a 2019 smartphone for everyone. We’re betting granny would love the new Asus ROG Phone II, right?
