The best thing about the Borderlands series is that, when you buy the base game, you know there are (at least) four new bits coming later. The first for Borderlands 3, titled Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, has been revealed and dated. You can expect the additional adventure to land from 19 December.

We’re going to avoid spoilers for Borderlands 2 here (just in case) but Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot sees players (obviously) entering Handsome Jack’s casino in search of a vault of another sort — the kind that hold money.
Players will fight through Hyperion staff and casino goers in order to get to the loot, which resides in the gaudy casino orbiting Pandora. Though the gameplay in the trailer above looks all-Borderlands to us, it’s still got kind of a Fallout: New Vegas — Dead Money vibe to it somehow. Hopefully the ending to this one’ll be less of a downer.
The DLC will be available to Borderlands 3 players over Level 13, though Gearbox says it’ll scale if you’ve already hit the level cap. And if you’re on the fence about Borderlands 3, it’s available for a limited-time trial at the moment. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers can play the shoot-n-loot title free between 21 November (that’s today) and 24 November. The trial doesn’t appear to be live yet but it may be running on American time so check again this evening.
