When it comes to computer hardware, all tech is created equal, right? The world’s thinnest touchscreen laptop begs to differ. The HP Spectre X360 (2018) comprises a sculpted aluminium chassis, a hidden hinge and full-size keyboard. The stylish hardware is finished in Dark Ash Silver.

Building it better

The Spectre X360 is chiselled from machined aluminium and carbon fibre, providing durability while the hidden coaxial hinge folds flush subtly. That leaves little to distract from the full-sized keyboard. If you’re on the road, the keyboard’s size and the edge-to-edge backlighting will keep you going for hours. The generous trackpad staves off office fatigue by giving your hands more space to roam.

Gathering Intel

Powering this Spectre’s X360 haunting features is a selection of Intel’s 8^th generation U-series processor, with options from the Core i5 and Core i7 family. The convertible can be upgraded with up to 1TB of solid-state storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR3 memory. In addition, the it offers up to 11 hours of battery life. The HP Spectre X360 has a Fast Charge capability, letting you work all day without worry about running out of battery.

Screen and sound

It’s not just powerful internals and a slender form designed to catch your eye. HP’s Spectre X360 features a 4K touchscreen display, firing light through more than eight million pixels for clearer visuals. The excellent touch screen display sits within a micro-edge bezel that (only just) encloses the screen. This allows the Spectre X360 to give you the same display size you’re expecting in a smaller form factor.

Audio is handled by HP’s dual speakers, a setup that was created and tuned by Bang & Olufsen. SmartAmp technology provides maximum volume and performance while preserving sound quality. Translation? The Spectre X360 sounds as good as it looks.

And another thing…

Slick design and great internals are joined by an IR-regulated cooling system, which keeps tabs on the Spectre’s X360 temperature and ensures the notebook stays quiet and cool during intensive workloads.

HP’s Spectre X360 features USB-C for charging, display connection or data transfer, a wide-vision HD IR camera (with an 88-degree FOV), support for up to two external (4K) displays, and supports a 802.11 a/c (2×2) WLAN adapter and Bluetooth 4.2 to round out the connection options.

Long story, short? The HP Spectre X360 is not your average convertible. It’s in a league of its own.
