Showmax recently started streaming live sport for South Africans, and the available activities are now increasing. The service will now live stream the ICC Cricket World Cup final, as well as the remaining 2019 EFC bouts. It’ll also feature extended highlights from Wimbledon, the Tour de France and PGA tournaments.
The platform will cover all upcoming EFC (Extreme Fighting Championship) bouts, but that’s not all. In addition to watching local fighters getting punched in the face, this Sunday, 14 July, Showmax users can huddle up and watch the ICC Cricket World Cup final between England and New Zealand live.
What a good sport
More than 40 instances of (previous) EFC fights will soon be added to Showmax, along with sixteen Best of EFC shows. These should be added in the coming weeks.
“We said we’d be testing out a bunch of things with our sport offering, and we are. The Cricket World Cup viewing activity over the past weeks went way past our expectations, which made it an easy call to live stream the final. As for EFC, it’s local, it’s got a fanatical following, and we’re keen to find out if this is the kind of thing our subscribers would like to see more of,” Niclas Ekdahl, CEO of MultiChoice’s connected video division, said.
Along with the live sport options, a range of SuperSport’s magazine and talk shows are being added daily with frequent updates. It may be time to ditch DStv for reals this time?
