Hot on the heels of the pricing info for the new iMac and second-gen AirPods, Apple has announced pricing for the all-new (nope, we can’t keep up either) iPad Air and similarly all-new iPad mini. The new Air starts at R9,000, while the Apple Pencil-supporting mini starts at R7,500. The iStore will offer various finance and trade in options for the new tablets.
Pre-orders for both devices open today. To pre-order the updated Air head over here, or if the iPad mini is more your style, pre-order one here. Check out the table below for detailed pricing of the various iterations of the new devices.
The iStore has partnered with FNB to offer both new devices on payment plans at a reduced interest rate. The plans also give buys a guaranteed future trade-in-value on the tablets, with trade-ins possible after 12 months.
Consumers can also trade in previous iPads or other Apple kit to offset the cost of one of the new devices. If they’d rather wait and use the trade-in value for something else down the line — like, perhaps, the next-gen iPhone — they can opt to take an iStore gift card instead.
While the new iPad mini looks a lot like the previous one, a lot has changed on the inside… plus there’s now support for the first-gen Apple Pencil.
We’ll bring you reviews of the new kit as soon as we’ve had some time with it.
