The Department of Home Affairs is going online – and they want unemployed youths to help them do it. Job listings have already gone live, with around 10,000 positions up for grabs. The listings are looking for anyone between the age of 18 and 35, and people with disabilities (and unemployed). The jobs entail the digitisation of over 350 million records of birth, death and marriage certificates throughout most of Gauteng, North West and the Western Cape. WhatsApp is working on an update that will see communities added to the platform in the coming weeks. Telkom is entering the realm of loans, helping out small businesses with up to R5 million where it’s needed. Banks are often considered the go-to for a loan and Telkom is looking to change that.
