We’ve been following along with Netflix’s Stranger Things since Season 3 was announced. While previous trailers have proved to be a little… meh, showing more drama and a not insubstantial amount of rampant consumerism (albeit a retro version of it), the newest — and final — Stranger Things Season 3 trailer brings the pain. And more than a little horror, to boot.

It’s a hard life being cheesed off, but that’s just what happens when you’re attempting to afford a member of Apple’s lineup of computers. If you’ve had eyes on the massively-expensive Mac Pro announced earlier this month, though, you might be aware of its cheesier qualities. That is: a casing capable of shredding rotted bovine lactation. Or, at least, so we thought.
We’ve all had questions, ever since it first was announced that Huawei is losing access to Google’s Android operating system. There was talk of a backup OS (which may or may not happen), a delayed notebook, and through it all Huawei has remained… remarkably calm.
Everyone’s getting a battle royale these days. Like a Mountain Dew-crazed Oprah handing out gaming goodies, just about every video game is getting a battle royale variant. The latest? Fallout 76, for some reason. Oh, and this fan-made conversion of the original Super Mario Bros., known simply as Mario Royale. Which you should go out and play right a-bloody-way.
What’s that, we hear you cry? It’s about bloody time? We’re right there with you on this one. It’s been far too long since Stuff had a fresh giveaway for its readers. But the drought has broken and we’ve got three Bluetooth speakers to give away to three winners. That’s one each, not three each. Important distinction. Up for grabs? Two LG Xboom Go PK3 speakers, valued at R1,000 each, and one LG Xboom Go PK5, valued at R2,500.
When things are going your way, it still helps to have a backup plan. That seem to be Huawei’s attitude to the ongoing China-America trade wars, which have wound up with the Chinese company on the so-called Entity List. And now that Plan B is looking more and more like a thing, the company has begun trademarking its Hongmeng mobile operating system around the world.
Video game publisher Konami has some new hardware on the way and for a change it has nothing to do with a Pachinko machine (long story). In keeping with Sony, Nintendo, and Sega launching throwback mini-consoles of their own, Konami is bringing back the TurboGrafx-16 with the TurboGrafx-16 Mini, a smaller version of the 1980s console released by the gaming company.
Man, where were all the cool things for kids when we were growing up? We had some interesting stuff but anything called the RoboMaster S1 would have been coloured in bright neon, made of semi-indestructible plastics, and would probably have been the result of a cartoon series tie-in. DJI, though, has other ideas.
If you were paying attention at any point in the past 24 hours, you’ll have noticed that Uber has announced something… new. That is, the first of its Uber Air vehicles, which will do just what your standard Uber will. More or less. Only, this time, you’ll be flying. As opposed to how you often feel when in an Uber at 4AM on a weekend.
There will be far, far more this week but for Light Start, we’ve picked a very small crop of what was seen at E3 this year.
