Discord seems to be the latest company playing with the idea of jumping onto the seemingly lucrative NFT bandwagon. At least that’s what it seems, going from a tweet from its CEO and an old survey. In the survey that did the rounds in August and that has recently resurfaced on Twitter, Discord quizzed users that are active in crypto Discord communities to gauge the interest in bringing similar features to its own platform. Recent leaks have fingered the still-rumoured Motorola Edge 30 Ultra to be the first Andriod smartphone coming to market with Qualcomm’s latest system on a chip (SoC). According to German tech blog TechnikNews, the device going by the internal code name “Rogue”, will ship with the also-still-unconfirmed Snapdragon SoC, the Snapdragon 898. The newly minted parent company of Facebook, Meta, has revealed plans on expanding its offering to physical stores.

Afriforum, a local self-proclaimed civil rights organisation is upset with Netflix and its Black Creatives Empowerment Fund that it’s calling discriminatory. Netflix announced the fund in September and pledged over R6 million. R4.6 million will go towards supporting aspiring black creatives in SA by cancelling higher education debt and offering postgraduate scholarships. The remaining R1.5 million will go to the Independent Black Filmmakers Collective (IBFC), a local network of producers, filmmakers and directors in the film and television industry. The legal battles and constant shuffling of managerial staff at Activision Blizzard are taking a greater toll on the publisher’s output than you might think. We aren’t too far off from the rumoured 2022 launch of the first of Intel’s Arc GPUs, codenamed ‘Alchemist’.
