Before the Garmin CIRQA became official, it was subject to tons of leaks. The same appears to apply to the next item in the lineup — a smart ring with the same branding. The folks at Garmin News spotted a regulatory filing that seems to out the new wearable.
The device information was submitted by PT Garmin Indonesia and found in that country’s regulatory filings, published yesterday. Beyond that, there’s little additional information.
Rings around CIRQA
The CIRQA smart ring is classified as a “fitness device” manufactured in Taiwan. The apparently wearable didn’t appear alone, either. An electric outboard motor, two marine radars, and something classed as “diving equipment” also made the list.
That’s the current sum of everything known about the unannounced wearable. We can make a few decent assumptions, though. The wrist-based CIRQA was launched in response to the Whoop tracker (and others). This ring-shaped version is likely going to take on Oura, Ultrahuman, and even Samsung’s smart rings. But with Garmin’s Connect+ app and the company’s tracking smarts in the background.
It makes quite a lot of sense for Garmin. The initial product already assumes there’s no screen anywhere, so dropping a smart ring into it changes little on a software level. Build quality, available sensors, and battery life will be the major considerations there. If this leak is anything like the previous ones, it won’t be long before those details emerge.
