As much as we love Nintendo’s Switch 2 Pro Controller, that R2,300 price is a tough pill to swallow. The alternatives are typically just as expensive, if not more, or stumble when it comes to features. Until CRKD’s Ult Pro controller came along, which promises to topple Nintendo with a $70 (∼R1,200) price.
Make transparent controllers great again
CRKD hasn’t skimped on features, either. Customisation is the name of the game here, beyond just the three colours available (welcome back, transparent controllers). On top of the usual buttons (plus four on the rear), the Ult Pro ships with six additional remappable units, adjustable triggers, and hot-swappable components.
It’s the sticks that caught our attention, though. If CRKD can eradicate stick-drift (allegedly, of course), Nintendo has no excuses. The Ult Pro utilises TMR Thumbsticks (Tunnelling Magnetoresistance), which CRKD reckons outstrips even Hall Effect sticks using “next-generation magnetic sensor technology”.

It may be a Switch controller by trade, but the Ult Pro won’t kick up a fuss when connecting to a PC, smartphone, tablet, or smart TV. It does so using the 2.4 GHz wireless dongle, Bluetooth, or just a USB-C cable. Stick with a Switch (1 or 2; it doesn’t matter) or a PC, and it’ll unlock a 1,000Hz polling rate, significantly improving response time.
It needed rumble and motion support to be a proper Nintendo controller, and CRKD has obliged. Hell, it even comes with its very own charging dock. Put all those bits together, and you’ve got one mighty-fine-looking controller that manages to be a fair bit cheaper than the official competition. It’s up for pre-order starting today, with the hopes of having these in hand by June 2026. An exact launch date is still unknown.
