The rumours were true. PlayStation’s PS Plus Extra and Deluxe tiers will be treated to one of the service’s better lineups for quite some time when they go live later this month. Silent Hill 2, Until Dawn (2024), and Yakuza: Like a Dragon are just the headliners for October’s Game Catalogue additions.
Running up that Silent Hill (a deal with PS Plus)
Before you go getting all excited, access to these titles (alongside hundreds of other games on the service, including God of War Ragnarök) is only available to customers with large enough wallets to shell out for the ‘Extra’ or ‘Deluxe’ tiers. Fear not. If you’re an ‘Essential’ subscriber, you still have Alan Wake 2 to work through.
PS Plus Extra and Deluxe subscribers also have the Alan Wake sequel in their libraries, which is available to keep for all PS Plus members, playable while the sub is active. As for the Silent Hill 2 remake and 2024’s Until Dawn, these will only stick around on the catalogue for as long as Sony wishes. There’s no telling how long that might be, but you’ve got a couple of months at the very least to conquer some of the best horror games out there.
They’re not available just yet, though. If you don’t yet have an active Extra or Deluxe subscription, it’s best to wait until 21 October when the games and others will be added to maximise your time with the titles. We’ve already mentioned the addition of Yakuza, which will be joined by As Dusk Falls, Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1, Wizard with a Gun, and V Rising. Deluxe subscribers also gain access to Tekken 3.
