WhatsApp has an upcoming change that’ll make chat histories a bit more navigable, according to WABetaInfo. This update will allow users to isolate sections of a group chat through reply chains. Users can interact with these conversation threads through a separate window, as well, adding a bit of order to chaotic group chats.
WhatsApp ties up loose threads

The feature has yet to make it out of the beta phase, which WABetaInfo spotted in the WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.19.10.80 update. There’s no telling when it’ll be made available to the public, but for the moment, we’ve got a rough idea of how it’ll work. On iOS, anyway.
When replying to any given message, an indicator will show users how many other replies are associated with it. So it’s not much more than a tool that tracks how many texts have been right-swipe replied to. It does at least help a user understand how long a certain conversation went for, preventing endless, vertigo-inducing scrolling.

When users click this indicator, WhatsApp will take them to a window where that thread is isolated and can be viewed separately. It’s still a mystery if the app will only track direct replies or if it will also encompass related responses that just don’t have a link or tag a previous message.
The best thing about this feature is that users can send new responses that will be grouped under the same thread. Allowing users to continue conversations while maintaining continuity.
