We’ve seen the Chinese company’s Magic V5, so now it’s time to check out the Honor Magic V6. It’s not official, yet, though a reveal is expected sometime around 1 March this year. But whether intentionally or not, it has turned up in images from China.
The images, posted on the country’s Weibo social media platform, show Hong Kong actor/singer Nicholas Tse handling the upcoming handset.

Actual details of the upcoming folding smartphone are less apparent, even though we can see it very clearly in the Chinese images. Honor’s boast last time around was that the Magic V5 was the world’s thinnest. We expect the company to attempt to retain that crown. Expect an unfolded width of less than 4.1mm when the V6 goes official.
Inside are expected to be Qualcomm’s latest premium chipset and a 200MP camera sensor. Where that sensor will go and what will accompany it is anybody’s guess. Is it the main? A telephoto? We’d be guessing at this point, but current chatter suggests that the 200MP will be the main camera. It’ll be supported by a 3x telephoto, with the megapixel count unknown for that one.
A 7,150mAh battery is also being talked about, though how Honor would stuff such a thing into its Magic V6 is a real head-scratcher. It’s been claimed that only one version of the phone will feature that super-thin profile, with the other models increasing the thickness to accommodate a larger battery. Turns out, the only way to have your cake and eat it, too, is to make two cakes.
The red hue seen in these Chinese images could well be called Red Hare. Black, white, and gold versions (Velvet Black, Snow White, and Sunrise Gold, apparently) are also expected. The phone’s full reveal is expected during, or just before, this year’s Mobile World Congress. It should be a Magic-al presentation (sorry, we’ll show ourselves out).
