We’re willing to bet that most of the folks cranking 90s in Fortnite weren’t even around for Razer’s first-ever gaming mouse, the Boomslang. It changed the landscape (for the better) when it was released near the end of the 90s, bringing with it a 2,000DPI sensor and even USB support. Now, Razer is celebrating the feat with the Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition (don’t ask us why it isn’t a 25th anniversary), and it looks…

Exactly how you’d expect from a name like Razer — rad. There are some changes, however. While a 2,000DPI sensor might have sufficed back in the day, the world has different standards now. The 20th Anniversary Edition ups that figure to 45,000DPI, but retains the ambidexterous design, now with a whole host of modern extras to make it worth the price.
Which we’re guessing will be significant. This is clearly for the Razer fans who were around for the original — simply because they’ve spent enough time roaming the Earth to amass enough capital. If you’re serious about bringing home one of only 1,337 models being made, you’ll have to sign up for the waiting list here.

Whatever it ends up costing, we’d imagine the Optical Mouse Switches (rated for 100 million+ clicks) and 9-Zone Razer Chroma RGB Lighting system make up for it. Razer’s gone and made the thing wireless, too, which will make use of the handy dock thrown in the box, complete with its own ring of RGB and an 8,000 Hz transceiver.
There’s no telling exactly when Razer’s Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition will become available, but we can promise you won’t find one on the shelves. You’ll need to be one of the lucky 1,337 chosen to snap one of these up — and when you do, it’ll feature its own unique serial number to help you flex on your mates.
