Disney+ is about to get a whole lot worse. If you had hoped to escape the onslaught of AI-generated slop that seems to plague every social media platform, Disney+ will not be your haven. During the company’s fourth-quarter and full-year earnings call for 2025, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed some big, big changes were coming.
Disney plus AI?
Some of them good — like the addition of “a number of game-like features,” possibly mimicking Netflix’s whole flow, and putting that partnership with Epic Games to good use. Others not so good — like adding user-promted, AI-generated slop for consumers to feast their eyes upon. Hell, it might even let Sora 2 in on the action.
“The other thing that we’re really excited about, that AI is going to give us the ability to do, is to provide users of Disney+ with a much more engaged experience, including the ability for them to create user-generated content and to consume user generated content — mostly short-form — from others,” said Iger.

Whether Disney will implement its own tech, or more likely borrow one from elsewhere, remains to be seen. During the call, Iger mentioned that the multimedia conglomerate had “productive conversations” with some AI companies — though he failed to say which. The eventual goal is to come to an agreement that would also “reflect [Disney’s] need to protect the IP,” and, just maybe, loan out the tech for Disney’s platform.
Finally, Iger said he sees an “opportunity for commerce” to use the app as an “engagement engine for people who want to go to our theme parks, want to stay at our hotels, or want to enjoy our cruises, our cruise ships.” What that means exactly is still under wraps, but we don’t expect it’ll be long before Iger’s threats start becoming reality. With the AI bubble possibly on the verge of bursting, Disney’s gotta move fast.
