If that old mouse and keyboard combo you got for cheap many years ago is starting to look a little crusty, Logitech has launched a shiny new combo that’s worth looking at just for its price. The MK250 features a wireless mouse and keyboard for R480 and is already available in South Africa.
In classic Logitech fashion, the pair is a breeze to set up and pair with your devices. They both use preinstalled alkaline batteries (1x AA for the mouse and 2x AAA for the keyboard), so the ‘set-up’ just requires you to take them out of the box and pull out the tabs to complete the circuit.
Those batteries, plus the use of Bluetooth LE for their wireless connection, equal a whole year before you’ll need to hunt for new batteries in that one drawer where you dump random stuff.

The Logitech MK250 combo is compatible with Swift Pair, so if you’re connecting them to a Windows PC, all you’ll have to do is hold down the power key to put them in pairing mode before you see a notification asking to pair them — no more fishing around in the settings. They’re also compatible with macOS, but you won’t get a handy notification.
Other notable features include spill-resistance for up to 60ml of liquid (because mistakes happen) and a compact full-sized keyboard design that provides a full numpad without taking up too much valuable desk space. If you don’t need USB-C recharging or additional functionality offered by some of Logitech’s other combos, this seems like a pretty good deal.
