Sennheiser turns 80, celebrates with Momentum
It’s been eighty years since Sennheiser started up. To celebrate the anniversary, the company is releasing a graffiti-slathered pair of Momentum 4 headphones, designed by German artist Bond Truluv. ‘The same unmatched sound, comfort, and battery life is now dressed for a milestone,” it said.
Every bit of the headset has been redesigned, with a yellow band and accents celebrating the company’s iconic 1968 HD 414 headphones, while Truluv’s “throwie” tag is on the left earcup. The right is home to the most street-looking art yet, representing sound in motion. ”
To be clear, Sennheiser may have handed Truluv latitude in the design department, but everything inside is as you remember it. Sennheiser boasts a 60-hour battery life, 42mm drivers to help deliver that Sennheiser “signature sound”, and ANC. If that sounds like something you’d want to get behind, you’ll need to be quick. Stock is limited, and it sells for €300 (∼R7,100), not including shipping and tax fees.
Elden Ring Nightreign gets a proper Duo mode
Even more bizarre than Elden Ring Nightreign’s existence was FromSoftware’s choice to make this spin-off co-op PvE survival title a three-player affair (or solo if you’re so inclined), disallowing two mates from teaming up on their own without first finding a third player. Fortunately, that’s changing, and soon.
Announced in a post on X, FromSoftware confirmed that ‘Duo Expeditions’ is headed to Nightreign as part of the 1.02 patch on 30 July. Also joining the update are several “quality-of-life UI improvements, including more Relics filtering options,” it said.
Even without a proper two-player co-op mode, Nightreign didn’t need much help to blossom. FromSoftware recently shared sales figures for Nightreign and its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, noting that the games had hit 5 and 10 million players, respectively. There’s no doubt that expanding Nightreign’s reach with proper two-player co-op will only help expand the Elden Ring universe further.
Vravo Bince, Pluribus lands this November
(Hopefully) continuing Apple TV+’s excellent sci-fi run comes Pluribus, the next big thing from Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad. On Friday, we finally got a somewhat brief look at the creator’s next series, which Apple has already ordered two seasons of, despite its pilot episode not yet airing.
Rhea Seehorn of Better Call Saul fame leads the series, which Apple describes as a “genre-bending original in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.” That’s a rather intriguing, but still slightly strange premise for the show that will also star Karolina Wydra and Carlos Manuel Vesga.
Pluribus will receive nine episodes for its first season, the first two of which land on the Apple TV+ streaming service on Friday, 7 November. After this, Apple will revert to its regularly scheduled programming, with one episode arriving every Friday until 26 December.
Lego’s Batman goes to Arkham Asylum
Lego’s Batman-themed sets aren’t only some of the Danish brick company’s best work, but they’re a medium that translates just as well, if not better, to the big screen and even a couple of video games, too. While we’re still waiting for a Gob-led Lego Batman sequel, we’ll have to make do with Lego’s new 2,953-piece Arkham Asylum set, featuring the Dark Knight as well as an extensive rogues gallery.
Those include minifigures for The Joker, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Bane, The Penguin, Killer Croc, and two security guards, with Batwoman, Batwing, and Robin also joining for the ride. The set splits into three different segments — first floor, second floor, and the roof, with moveable bits that’ll give you a peek inside the villain’s prison when it isn’t stewing evilly on your shelf.
As is typical when dissecting Lego’s latest, the biggest problem with this Arkham Asylum set is its price. Coming in at $300 (∼R5,300), it’ll likely turn up with a R5,600 pricetag, judging by Lego’s other, more recent $300 bits of colourful plastic like its Legend of Zelda Deku Tree.
