LG Electronics South Africa recently confirmed which of the brand’s latest 2025 TVs are coming to South Africa, including the biggest TV the company has ever made.
The 100in model of the QNED86, affectionately officially called the “100 inch LG QNED evo AI QNED86 4K 120Hz Smart TV AI Magic Remote webOS25 2025” on LG SA’s website, makes it abundantly clear the TV uses LG’s QNED technology (it’s mentioned twice, after all) for improved colour accuracy.
Joining the huge 100in QNED set are its smaller QNED86 and QNED82 siblings (sizes range from 65in to 86in), along with sets in the B5, C5, and G5 OLED range (55in to 83in), and a 65in model from the UA85 series.
LG’s new QNED TVs want a spot in your lounge
“Our 2025 TV lineup represents a significant step forward in home entertainment, offering unparalleled immersion and intelligence,” says Carol Guedes at LG Electronics South Africa.
“The 100-inch QNED86 is a testament to our innovation, but it’s the entire range’s ability to cater to diverse consumer needs, from cutting-edge visuals to seamless smart integration, that truly defines this new era of viewing,” she continued.
If this is your first time encountering LG’s QNED technology, it’s a combination of the additional Quantum Dot and NanoCell layers, sometimes used with mini LED backlights (TV model dependent) to enhance colour accuracy and brightness. Put simply, it’s all about trying to get the best performance from traditional LCD-based TVs.
If you’re already familiar with LG’s QNED technology and like the idea of a 100in TV in your house, you can already pre-order the ‘100 inch LG QNED evo AI QNED86 4K 120Hz Smart TV AI Magic Remote webOS25 2025’ for the similarly long price of R100,000. LG will even throw in a free S95TR soundbar system to sweeten the pot.
If you’ve been holding out for LG’s usually exquisite OLED range, you won’t have to wait too much longer. LG SA has confirmed that the B5, C5, and G5 will be available in various sizes. Prices for those are still to be announced.
