It’s been a couple of years since Sony’s remarkable C700N earbuds appeared on the scene which means it’s time for an upgrade. The Japanese tech maker’s new WF-C710N earbuds have yet to be made official but a new image leak, supporting other leaks, shows the upcoming audio device(s) in all their see-through glory.
The last version opted for an interesting green shade for its standout earbuds but this time around, Sony seems to be plotting a wholly transparent set so you can see all the gooey innards. Well, maybe not gooey but you get the idea.
Looking through the WF-C710N
Images of Sony’s upcoming WF-C710N earbuds were leaked to the Walkman Blog. The standard black and white hues are available, as well as an interesting pink but there is an all-new transparent set, complete with a similarly designed case, also on the roster.
Other details include 5mm drivers, an IPx4 waterproof rating, battery life of between 8.5hr and 12hr (noise cancelling on and off), support for Bluetooth 5.3, and automatic pausing. Remove them from your lugs and your music or podcast should stop.
Each bud is expected to feature a 70mAh battery, with a 500mAh battery in the case. Total battery life, case included, runs up to 30 hours. Two ambient modes — Normal and Voice — are supported inside the WF-C710N earbuds.
The leak even includes expected launch dates. Pricing overseas should work out to about R2,250 ($120) and the launch is expected in late May this year. Given when we saw the WF-C700N buds turn up in 2023, that sounds about right.
