Samsung’s incoming Galaxy S25 series tipped to launch in January 2025

Samsung Galaxy S24

Like clockwork, Samsung is reportedly gearing up to release the Galaxy S25 Series in early 2025. For years, Samsung has dominated the headlines in January/early February with the release of its flagship devices, and that doesn’t appear to be changing in the New Year. It might, however, be mixing up the formula for its next launch.

Normally, Samsung paves the way for three smartphones – in this case, that’s the basic Galaxy S25, the larger Galaxy S25 Plus, and the massively expensive Galaxy S25 Ultra. But if you believe recent leaks, there might be a new sibling to play around with: The Galaxy S25 ‘Slim’, firmly positioned somewhere between the S25 and Ultra variants. Whether it’ll make its debut at this event remains to be seen.

Mark those calendars

According to one of the more reputable industry insiders, Evan Blass (@EVLeaks), Samsung has earmarked 22 January 2025 for its next Galaxy Unpacked event – where at least three of those models mentioned will be launched, with the fourth Slim model still a mystery. Blass’ X.com account is currently set to private, though we managed to get hold of the image, thanks to the folks at Android Police.

The image appears to be the official Italian invitation cooked up by Samsung, confirming the 22 January 2025 Unpacked date, and subtly hinting at the reveal of a fourth device – the Slim. We expect Samsung to unveil the device at the very least, although some leaks suggest Samsung has plans to hold off on the device’s official launch until May or June of 2025, possibly targeting a release alongside the company’s foldables.

Blass took the opportunity to drop what appear to be official marketing materials for the Galaxy S25+ and Ultra models, showing off the official wallpapers used and, more importantly, the design changes headed our way. As expected, Samsung hasn’t changed much, although it does appear to have finally ditched the Ultra’s knife-edge corners, opting for the more rounded edge seen on the cheaper devices.

As for news of the specs, you’ll need to wait until the official announcement pencilled in for 22 January 2025.
