Samsung has finally gotten around to confirming the news we (and many others) have been spouting for weeks. The South Korean outfit’s next Unpacked event is officially taking place on 10 July in Paris, France, continuing Samsung’s tradition of scheduling one of these for roughly the same time each year. It’s gone for a 09h00 EDT starting time this year, translating to a 15h00 kick-off time in South Africa.
A lot to Unpack here
The theme this time around? Galaxy AI. If that at all sounds familiar, it’s because it was at the forefront of the first Unpacked event of the year – which saw the unveiling of its flagship Galaxy S24 Series and Samsung’s take on artificial intelligence. Now, it’s shoving Galaxy AI into its latest additions to the Z Series “and the entire Galaxy ecosystem.”
Headlining the event are the long rumoured additions to the Galaxy Z Series, formally known as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 — neither of which are expected to massively change up its foldables game. According to the rumour mill, the Flip 6 could see a marginally larger battery inside — up from the dismal 3,700mAh battery stuck in last year’s model. As for the Fold 6, there’s talk of an ever-so-slight redesign on the way, joining the usual upgrades to the chipsets onboard for both models.

Then there’s the company’s wearables, expected to enter their seventh iteration this July. Leading the pack is the new Watch 7 donning an ‘Ultra‘ moniker set to take on Apple’s top-of-the-range wearables, with a matching price tag. Drop the Ultra and you’re left with the regular Galaxy Watch 7 that’ll receive its largest upgrade in the form of the 3nm Exynos W1000 chipset and even prettier Sapphire Crystal display. Lest we forget the budget-friendly Galaxy Watch FE — a first for the Watch range.
Finally, also stepping into the ring is the wearable we know the least about. Announced at January’s Unpacked event, the Galaxy Ring is expected to finally make a proper debut come July, though pricing and specs are still being held tightly to Samsung’s chest.
