We knew WhatsApp’s streak of brilliant updates couldn’t last. There had to be something that didn’t grab our attention eventually, and it looks like the day has finally come. According to WABetaInfo, Meta is cooking up a new update for WhatsApp Business that’ll see a ‘quick action bar’ join the app’s ranks. See? Told you.
That won’t stop it from being useful, though. WABetaInfo first spotted the addition in the WhatsApp Business beta for Android 2.23.22.10 update which usually means that an official rollout isn’t that far away. We can’t be sure when that’ll be, but we’re placing our bets on an early November release.
Let’s circle back on this
If you’re fortunate (or unfortunate, depending on how you look at it) enough to have access to WhatsApp’s Business beta, you might’ve noticed a new button taking residence above the microphone when there’s a chat open. That right there? That’s the button everyone’s fussed about.
Clicking it will bring up, for lack of a better word, a ‘quick bar’ above the chat bar, and offers a quick route to some of Business’ exclusive features. To be specific, that includes the ability to quickly create orders on the fly, get hold of quick replies… quickly, and open up a catalogue to send product info through without much hassle.

Keep in mind, these aren’t new features. They’ve been available since Business’s inception and could always be found in the chat attachment menu. They just required a smidge more effort than just hitting the upcoming action button.
Like we said, WhatsApp’s kept things quiet on the quick bar front. We’re sure Mark Zuckerberg or a lowly Meta intern will randomly surprise us one day with the feature’s rollout – likely hitting digital shelves over the coming weeks. There’s no word yet on an iOS release, but don’t fret about that too much. WhatsApp rarely strays into iOS beta territory unless absolutely necessary.
