WhatsApp is launching a way to easily transfer chat logs on Android devices

Moving WhatsApp chats from an Android to a new iPhone is easy. Just download the ‘Move to iOS’ app and you’re golden. Doing the same with two Android devices, however… that’s still a hassle. That could (finally) be changing in an upcoming update.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature is still in development with no beta in sight. That means it could still be quite some time before we see the feature hit the metaphorical shelf. But it’s coming. Eventually.

It’s still worth keeping your chats backed up to Google Drive – even if on a monthly basis. Should your phone go missing or wind up stolen without your chats being backed up, you’ll lose them forever. (Check out #12 on our WhatsApp tips and tricks for more info.)
