Remember last month, when there was no World Cup, and Messi wasn’t the GOAT? Yeah, us neither. All we can remember is last night – the World Cup final which gave both France and Argentina a chance of winning it all. After two hours and a set of nerve-wracking set of penalties, Argentina emerged victorious – solidifying Lionel Messi’s postion of being the best. Footballer, of course. We heard he’s not great at brain surgery.
But, as with everything, it needed to come to an end. Players on both teams have lives to return to, as well as domestic leagues. Both Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi are set to return to France – an awkward flight, we’re sure.
Premier League is back! And so are the rest…
There’s no rest for the players that were in the World Cup tournament, with matches set to resume in the English Premier League as early as next weekend. Arsenal is in the driver’s seat. For now. It’s only a matter of time before Manchester City has its say and takes back its spot at the top. The highlight match will see the Gunners take on a strong Merseyside squad on Monday, 26 December.
And you can watch it all live on Showmax Pro.

And that’s just the Premier League. Spanish La Liga is also resuming the following week, as the two-horse race continues between Barcelona and Real Madrid. And then there’s the Italian Serie A to consider. Italy will mark its comeback to domestic football on 4 January 2023. It looks like it’ll be Napoli’s year, with its massive eight-point lead on the rest of the field.
There’s still time to get Showmax Pro’s end-of-year special, which will let you get a month of Pro for only R300. Pro Mobile is also on sale, with an asking price of R200 to look forward to. After 31 January 2023, prices will return to normal; R350 for a month of Showmax Pro and R225 for a month of Pro Mobile.
