The Asus ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition is devilishly handsome

Asus ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition

Earlier this month, Stuff got to go hands-on with the Asus ROG Phone 6. It’s an absolute monster of a gaming phone, capable of processing all the frames you can fire at its pristine screen. But it’s not a true high-end smartphone if no special edition exists.

With that in mind, Asus has a custom version of its handset heading to market. It’s based around Diablo Immortal, the mobile game that was ruthlessly mocked when it was announced that turned up to be not that awful after all.

Diablo’s Asus ROG Phone 6 is no joke

Weirdly enough, this version of the phone isn’t the most powerful. Its R23,000-ish overseas price, without all the fancy additions, would net you a phone packing 18GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Here at home, that’s the same price as the 16GB/512GB model, so you could expect the Diablo Immortal handset to cost a little more than that in South Africa. Despite featuring the exact space spec. Go figure.

But you’re getting your money’s worth if you’re a Diablo fan. Everything is themed around the game. EVERYTHING. The SIM ejector tool is known as the Immortality Ejector Pin. A UV torch (called Fahir’s Light) reveals hidden details on the phone’s case. The box the Asus ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition arrives in is shaped just like a Worldstone, while the phone’s box looks like a Horadric Cube. Plus, there is a map of Sanctuary which doubles as a carrying case for the charge block and cable.

Obviously, there are hints and access on this Asus ROG Phone 6 itself that point towards the game. The case is themed. There’s a software theme too. Additionally, there are custom bits like an RBG logo for the game on the phone itself.

Still, if the source of all evil isn’t your thing, Asus has another version of its gaming uber-phone for you to check out. The Batman Edition of Asus’ handset will set you back at least R21,000, plus the cost of shipping it over from the States. Both of the company’s special edition ROG phones seem to be international only for now.
