How to apply to be a sim racer for R10,000 a month

Cars

The folks at cars.co.za are on the lookout for South Africa’s best sim racer and paid affiliate of the brand.

The online automotive platform is looking to sponsor a sim racing driver to compete in the ATK racing pro series during the June to November 2022 racing season. Cars.co.za’s chosen one will be sponsored for six months and receive R10,000 each month.

“The increase in popularity of shows such as Drive to Survive has resulted in an explosion of petrolhead passions. And with our background of always finding new and exciting ways to extend the cars.co.za brand, we want to be involved in uncovering more of SA’s e-racing superstars that are evolving racing as we know it,” says Ross McIlroy, co-founder of cars.co.za.

How to apply

Firstly, create a profile on the MatchKit.co platform.

MatchKit is an online sporting profile builder allowing athletes from all sports to create profiles. It’s like a LinkedIn profile, but sporty. It also helps you to get your social media credentials out there and share recently created content.

It’s very important to link your Facebook or Instagram account first when building your profile. Fill in everything, just as on LinkedIn, then publish your profile. Once published, you can share your unique MatchKit URL on social media with the hashtag #CarsSimRacerSearch. And that’s it, now you wait for your profile and social media to do the talking. Some sim racing practice probably won’t hurt either.

Three applicants will be chosen by the cars.co.za team, from which they will pick the winner. The winner will be announced on 6 June 2022 on the cars.co.za Instagram account.

Applications close on 31 May 2022, only six days to go.
