Comic Con Africa, Doritos to host online gaming tournament(s) with a R45,000 prize pool

Do you like Fortnite? How about money? And online tournaments hosted by Doritos and Comic Con Africa? If the answer to any of those was ‘yes’ then you’re in the right place.

Doritos and Comic Con Africa have joined forces to bring South Africa the Doritos Crunch Cup. This is a series of online tournaments, with a prize pool worth R45,000.

Unreal tournament

Marking Dorito’s first foray into the gaming and esports scene, the Crunch Cup kicks into gear with a Fortnite tournament. The prize split is as follows;

Whether you work better alone or as a team, there’s a tournament for you.

Not into Fortnite? Not a problem. Fans that would rather spectate than play can do just that, while also winning prizes with a weekly Watch and Win. Tournament registration officially opens on 11 April, but those who can’t wait any longer can pre-register here.

Daily updates on qualifiers will be provided through Comic Con Africa’s socials. The semi-finals and finals of each tournament will be hosted live on Comic Con Africa’s Twitch channel. The pre-tournament broadcast will include a full breakdown of what’s to come on 29 April at 5 PM – also on Comic Con Africa’s twitch channel.
