Another day, another leak of an upcoming smartphone. Info on Oppo’s newest flagship has surfaced, including the name, some specs, and what it’ll look like.
Oppo seems to be one of those companies that have a hard time with numbers. Its newest flagship, reportedly called the Find X5 Pro, follows on from the previous Find X3 Pro. This is according to a now-deleted Weibo post that mentioned a few specs and showed us what it’ll look like.
The biggest surprise for most is the Hasselblad branding seen on the supposedly real-world photos of the device. To go along with that is a very similar spec sheet to the new OnePlus 10 Pro. This does kinda make sense seeing as OnePlus is now treated as a subsidiary of Oppo.

The leaked renders – courtesy of Onleaks on Twitter – and the real-life photos suggest that the X5 Pro will inherit the X3 Pro’s camera ‘hill’ but it looks a little narrower. The camera setup has changed slightly too. The two 50MP and 13MP sensors remain but the 3MP microscope sensor with the ring flash has been dropped.
An Oppo flavoured OnePlus
As for the rest of the specs, if the leaks are to be believed the Find X5 Pro should sport a new 2K LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display. The Samsung-made LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) screen allows the panel to lower its refresh rate down to 1Hz when needed. This’ll save on battery life. The handset will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery which is, in turn, recharged via 80W wired or 50W wireless fast charging.
The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and Oppo’s own MariSilicon X chip will run things in the background. The MariSilicon X is an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) Oppo uses for image processing and AI smarts.
These are still leaks though, no matter how accurate the leakers have been in the past. Some salt is still required. Oppo has released several of its devices here in SA but so far we’re limited to the Reno range. Maybe this is our year for an Oppo flagship.
