Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey resigns, again

Jack Dorsey announced early yesterday morning US time that he had resigned from his position as CEO at Twitter, the company he co-founded. This has left a lot of the world and, from what we’ve read, a good amount of people at the company wondering: “Why?”

Well, according to Jack, “There’s a lot of talk about the importance of a company being ‘founder-led,’” he wrote in an email to the Twitter staff which he also tweeted. “Ultimately I believe that’s severely limiting and a single point of failure. I’ve worked hard to ensure this company can break away from its founding and founders.”

He makes an interesting point. We wonder if that’s why he stepped down from the roll in 2008 only to take it up again in 2015. Maybe that was Jack’s way of letting the company “stand on its own, free of its founder’s influence or direction.”

not sure anyone has heard but,

Twitter moves on, what about Jack?

In the tweeted email, Jack explains that Parag Agrawal would take over the role effective immediately before singing his praises. Dorsey wrote that he would continue to serve on the board until the end of his term, after which he will depart.

What does this mean for Twitter? For Dorsey? For you, the user? A better chance for growth for the company, Dorsey will probably buy more NFTs and focus on his fintech company and it probably won’t mean much for the end-user, or it could change Twitter as you know it. But probably not.
